Charlevoix is a cultural and natural region in Quebec, on the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River as well as in the Laurentian Mountains area of the Canadian Shield. This dramatic landscape includes rolling terrain, fjords, headlands, and bays; the region was designated a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1989.

It's about a 4h30 minute drive from the West Island.

It's so beautiful there.

You can book a zodiac and see the whales, go on a beautiful hike up the mountains, visit the small city of Baie St-Paul and other small villages, rent bikes, rock climbing, kayaking. It's a quieter getaway, you can do as much or little, the choice is yours.

Sweet small villages, great restaurants and don't forget shopping.

The best places to see the whales are, La Malbaie & Tadoussac

One of my favorite hotels in the area.

Located on the cliff of Pointe-au-Pic, specular views.

Each room has a kitchenette, access to the pool & hot tub outside & small breakfast is included.

It's not a fancy hotel, but there is nothing like waking up and sitting outside watching the sunrise on the water. If you have binoculars, be sure to bring them with you :)
