Mountain Top. Located on the highest point of St. Thomas, Mountain Top affords visitors stunning panoramic views of Magens Bay and the British Virgin Islands.

Magens Bay

St. Thomas Skyride. The eight-tower ascent of Flag Hill whisks visitors up to Paradise Point, 700 feet above the town of Charlotte Amalie, for some of the most dramatic views in the Caribbean.

Phantasea Tropical Botanical Garden. Over 15 years in the making, this lush garden features over 1,000 orchids, hundreds of bromeliads, heliconias, gingers, palms and many other tropical vegetation.

St. Croix

Arriving by the water or under the sea, there’s a surprise around every reef, cove and dune. In addition to the famed Captain Morgan Rum Distillery, Cruzan Rum Distillery, live sunset jazz in Frederiksted, food and wine festivals, tidal pool hikes and rain-forest , here are some family to-do’s:

Lawaetz Family Museum. An 18th-century estate house showcasing the antique furnishings and lush fertile gardens of the prominent Danish-Crucian Lawaetz Family.

Point Udall. The easternmost point of the United States offering magnificent views.

Historic Frederiksted Walking Tours. Learn about the history of Frederiksted, with its magnificent waterfront, Fort Frederik, Victorian townhouses and historic churches. Additional tours include the Alexander Hamilton's Christiansted Historical Walking Tour, Ridge to Reef Farm Tour and Ay-Ay Eco Hike & Tours from CHANT.

Beer Drinking Pigs at the Mt. Pellier Hut Domino Club. If you stop at the Domino Club, not only can you get yourself a cold non-alcoholic beer, but you can buy a (non-alcoholic) round for the resident pigs.

Estate Whim Plantation Museum. History comes alive as you walk among the original early 18th-century plantation buildings on the 12 acres.

Fort Christiansvaern. Completed in 1749 and designated a National Historic Site in 1952, this former courthouse features an exhibit on local military history.


Virgin Islands Food Tours. Are in abundance variety of guided cultural and food tasting walking tours, including the Taste of Twin City Food Tour.


Outdoor Exploration

Buck Island. One of only three underwater national monuments in the United States, Buck Island’s underwater trails make it a popular destination for snorkelers and a must-do for every visitor.

St. George Village Botanical Gardens. Through its gardens and collections, it is a center of education for better understanding, not only of the island’s botanical heritage, but also the horticultural potential for contemporary gardening in the Virgin Islands.

Bioluminescent Bays. Both Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve and Altona Lagoon allow visitors to witness nature’s nightly “living lights” (caused by a high concentration of bioluminescent micro-organisms called dinoflagellates)

Rainbow Beach: Wonderful beach for calm water great sand and unsurpassed western views, sunset is amazing from this beach.

Davis Bay: Beside the crystalline waters of Davis Bay, this beautiful white sand beach lined with palm trees is a great spot for swimming, body-surfing, snorkeling and scuba diving.

Shoys Beach: Secluded public beach within a gated community, with calm water for swimming & snorkeling.

Historic Sites and Entertainment

Annaberg Sugar Plantation Ruins. Part of the island’s National Park, visitors can travel back in time to 1780 and meander among the ruins of the old windmill or catch a cultural demonstration.

Bars and Live Music. Expect low-key open-air bars, friendly faces and live music. Cruz Bay is famed for its live music scene and a relaxing atmosphere beckons you to sit, enjoy a drink and watch the sunset.

Shopping. Popular shopping areas on St. John include the unique shops of Mongoose Junction and Wharf-side Village, as well as Coral Bay’s quaint shops that feature handmade jewelry, silk-screened fabrics and art.

Outdoor Exploration

Virgin Islands National Park. Covering most of St. John (at 7,000-plus acres), this major landmark features breathtaking beaches, tropical forests and relics from the island’s history. Within its borders lie protected bays of crystal blue-green waters teeming with coral reef life, white sandy beaches shaded by sea grape trees, coconut palms and tropical forests, all providing habitat for over 800 species of plants.

Reef Bay Trail & Petroglyphs. The most popular trek in the National Park begins on Centerline Road and descends 937 feet through a shady forest. While hiking, you encounter the visible remains of four sugar estates and ancient petroglyph rock carvings. This hike is not for the faint at heart, it's hot and humid, you need to be in good shape and make sure you have the right shoes., but you will be pleasantly surprised.

Beaches: Francis Bay, Honeymoon Beach, Leinster Bay, Salt Pond Bay, Hawksnest Beach, Jumbie Bay, Maho Bay, Cinnamon Bay and Trunk Bay.
